The USSA Needs You !

Dear Geneva Colleagues,

There is a vacancy on the Executive Committee of the Staff Association in Geneva due to the fact that one of the Committee will be leaving UNAIDS.

Normally when such a situation arises between elections the Executive Committee can co-opt any member of the Staff Association from Geneva (in this case) onto the Committee until the next election. However we would rather not go this route in the interest of transparency and we would like to give all members of the Staff Association in Geneva the opportunity to let us know if they are interested to fill this position until the next official election. For further information on what being a Committee Member entails, please don’t hesitate to contact us or visit our website : http://www.ussa-unaids.org/

If you are interested, please contact any elected Committee Member, or reply to this email explaining what you think you could bring to the Staff Association Executive Committee. The deadline for receipt of applications is COB Monday, 10 August.

Very best wishes

Your Staff Association

2008 Committee

Together, we are making a difference.

In 2008, the Staff Association Committee has achieved, or helped to achieve, a lot of progress for staff welfare:

  • the Work-life balance policy
  • the Diversity policy
  • the Crèche partnership for Geneva staff
  • the 1st participation of the USSA in RMMs
  • the Greenhouse rules
  • the solidarity lunch on WAD
  • the Myanmar solidarity fund.

Why don’t YOU consider standing as a candidate in the upcoming Staff Association Executive Committee elections?

The deadline for applications is: Thursday 19 March 2009. Voting will begin on 7 April and end on 21 April 2009.

There are 5 vacant seats in Geneva and 3 in the field. We encourage staff members from Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Middle East and North Africa, as well as Eastern and Southern Africa regions to run for this election, trying to reach a regional representation balance.

For more details, please contact the USSA Office or consult our website.
